I was mowing the lawn when I saw a guy riding a wheel down the road. Just a wheel. No handlebars or pedals. A white wheel with blue lights on it, and his feet were on either side. I was like WAT IS THAT THING
Turns out, it’s the $2,000 Solowheel.

I see them in SF, people commute from the ferry on a couple. They seem stable. I ordered this instead:

Sort of off-topic but I can’t miss the opportunity to brag, I recently learned how to unicycle! No gyros for me please!

I saw several on the sidewalks of Paris last year (different models/brands, too but same idea). In theory, they are light enough to carry on/off the metro (subway/tube depending on your vernacular) with minimal fuss, unlike a city bike or scooter. I’m partial to walking and I’m not usually in such a rush that I need a couple mph boost to be on-time, but I could see this as really popular for commuter-students, city messengers, others who daily have to traverse lots of city sidewalks.
